removing break pad (disc)
so i went to take me brake pads off to put the new ones in, but i cant see how to get them off. the guy in the shop said just turn the pin and pull, but ive turned the pin and nothing is moving...
i have a shimano mech disc brake can sombody help please... cheers |

i have a shimano mech disc brake can sombody help please... cheers You have to straighten the end of the cotter pin to slide it out, then undo those allen bolts to take the side of the assembly off. It's a pretty simple mechanism once you're inside. It's a good idea to slack off the pad adjustment before replacing the pads. Then you can just tighten the adjustment up when the new pads are in. Whatever you do, don't touch the faces of the pads with your fingers. Skin contaminates them, apparently. Handle them by the little pan-handles. |
