no tire levers? no worries

I've found that if you don't have a handy set of tire levers around the house, an old can opener (like the ones you use to punch holes into apple juice cans) and a couple butter knives make an excellent replacement. Just make sure you use the rounded end of the can opener to get started not the pointy end.

Yeah, and I'm sure you're not going to ding up that nice expensive AL rim of yours. Why not use a crowbar and a flathead screwdriver?

Plastic levers are cheap and effective (Pedros are great), no need to McGuyver it.

Sometimes you don't realize you need these things until after your LBS is closed for the night. ;)

Remove and discard the spring from a hardwood clothes pin and you'll have a pair of tire levers that won't scratch your rims.
