BB Drain Hole And Hollowtech II BB- Will This Be A Problem?
Will drilling a drain hole in my BB shell cause a problem if I use a Hollowtech II BB? I'm worried about the BB shell not being fully occupied as it would be with a "normal" BB, thus letting more water in. Thanks.

Drilling a small drain hole in the BB shell should not be a problem. One of my previous bikes came with a slot cut out of the BB shell. It's a good way to let moisture and water escape.

Why would you want a hole in your BB shell, surely that would just give gunk an entry point?
If you're that worried about it do something to stop water getting in. |
^^^^.... Drain holes are common fare especially in steel frames. The old steel frames had all kinds of slots and holes cut in the BB and it apparently wasn't as issue even with the old cup and ball BB which needed regular service anyway.Even less of a potential issue with current cartridge BB.
