DA STI front shifter won't down shift

Crashed it recently, not particularly fast, and went down on the right and doesn't look like any damage to the front sti shifter.

Shifters are about a month old, with new cables, etc. Basically, can't shift from big ring to little ring. Used to work fine, naturally. Have to hold the outer lever still while pushing inner lever to release. Otherwise, inner lever will release with a click, but not enough to have the derailleur push the chain onto the small ring.

Time for new shifter. barf. that would blow since these are so new.

If you are sure the FD is ok, ie you can release the cable clamp and the FD cage moves in on spring action, the next step is to carefully examine the FD and cage for any subtle damage, then move on to the cable and its routing for any anomalies. Finally if all is well there and the L brifter truly is unmarked or scratched and new then it should be replaceable under warranty. www.aebike.com sells individual brifters for Shimano as another option. I checked the FD - removed the cable and checked that it moves freely.

My next step will be to try a new cable. Even though this cable is only a month old, the bike gets ridden every day in all weather, so even though I've sprayed some WD40 in there, changing the cable is cheaper/faster than replacing the lever.
