modolo brake levers

Hi,

I've recently bought from 80's modolo levers from ebay for my track bike.

I had thought that these were only 'out the top levers', however on closer inspection there seems to be a way of threading the cable thru' the back of the lever housing.
The ones I have are the drilled levers with the ribbed effect sides to the housing and the ergo rubber covers.

Can anyone please help if they know the technique for threading the cable in reverse so I can lay the cable under the bar tape?

thanks in advance

Jimmy
