Cartridge hub berings: how to get the Damn things out!
I think the title of the thread sums things up nicely. How do I get the old ones out so I can put the new ones in? There isn't enough clearance to punch them out from the opposite side, and nothing to bear on to pry them out.

What brand of hub are your referring to?
I had a pair of Specialized (possibly made by Suntour) cartridge bearing hubs that I used the head of a 4 or 5 inch nail to remove the bearings. Feed the nail head first through the opposite side of the hub and seat the nail head behind the bearing. Tap the point of the nail with a hammer & periodically move the head to different areas of the bearing. Worked pretty well for me.

Oddly enough, these are Specialized hubs laced to Mavic rims.
I'll try the nail first. The nearest AutoZone is 19.4 miles away, and it's gonnna snow tonight.
Thanks

UPDATE:
24 hours later and the big nail/hammer did the trick. Always trust a hammer.....
