brand or part numbr help with dt swiss tensiometer

I'm going to build a tensiometer for building wheels, Does anyone have a DT swiss dial indicator version handy, and can give the manufacture and part number off the dial indicator itself?

I hear starrett makes one. curious about how the guage is calibrated kgf? 0- 200?

thanks,
HansZ

Sorry, My DT Tensiometer has no manufacturer number on the dial gauge. The dial face only has the DT logo. Could be a custom job! The gauge is not calibrated in kgf but in 0-10. It comes with a manual giving conversions to Newtons for all DT spokes types. e.g. with DT Comp 14/15/14g butted spokes 2.10 on the dial gauge equates to approx 1400N.

That sounds like a commendable project but as a practical matter doesn't it make more sense to buy a Park tension meter for about $55? It's scaled in Park deflection numbers and comes with a conversion chart, the conversions are based on spoke diameters. But I think these conversions are iffy for double butted spokes. The reason for the necessary conversions is that the spoke deflection varies with tension AND spoke diameter.

Well i commend you if you really go about making a tensiometer, but you are best off to get a park if you ask me.
The dial indicator looks like a regular indicator with maybe 1/2" of travel. NOthing too special there, it only measures the position of the handle, which is being "pushed" by the spring.

Imagine what a starrets dial indicator would do for the price of the DT tensiometer

An admirable and challenging project HanZ. I wish you success. If you need pics of the DT tensiometer for reference, please ask.
