"Rilled" BB bearings

I noticed a "clunk" while pedaling in the BB of my Cannondale Synapse and the small chain ring on the front never really worked right. The bike had about 900 miles on it.
UPDATE:
The LBS said that the BB bearings where "rilled" and were replaced free of charge on manufacturers warranty..... I also replaced the chain.
BUT after 70 miles I am noticing the SAME THING again and getting some bad front derailleur/chain rub in many gears including near the middle of the rear cog set??? (eg. 50/19)
What’s the deal?
