What section a "P" clips under at the hardware store?

I was at Home Depot the other day and couldn't find any in the nuts and bolts section or electrical - I was in too much of a hurry to ask anybody - had to go to work! :p

Who has em and what section are they in? Thanx! :)

I expect they are in the Electrical Dept. since they are often used to contain and locate bundles of wires. Did you look in the stacks of drawers full of various size fasteners and bolts?

Any Electric Supply will definitely have them. I've seen them is several local hareware stores too. I'm sure Home Depot has them but you have to ask.

Try hardware, miscellaneous. Near nuts and bolts. Here they are kept inside drawers that slide out.

My LHS(=local hardware store) has them in the plumbing section.

Yeah, there are versions used to fasten pipe runs to walls so larger ones might be in the plumbing section.

I usually find the LHS staff is more knowledgeable and helpful than the big box (Home Despot, sLowes...).

Generally plastic ones for bundling cables will be in electrical. Sometimes individually in drawers and sometimes in groups on a card hanging in with cable ties, etc. Metal ones -- copper and occasionally steel will run in larger sizes in the plumbing section. At Home Depot it will take a little hunting to find them.

What are P clips?

P-clips, in our usage, are used to fasten a rear rack to a bike that doesn't have threaded fittings on the seatstays to bolt to directly.

They are P-shaped (no surprise there) pieces of metal or plastic having a circular end (the top of the "P") with two parallel tab sticking out (the stem of the P). The circle can contain wires, pipes, or in our case, go around the seatstays of a bike frame. The tabs have a hole at the end used to screw the whole thing to a wall or to bolt it to the rack's mounting arms.
