I do - ErgoBrain 10 - and love it (and my wife loves hers as well).

It has more features than I will probably ever use, but some of the ones I like best are:

1. Operated from the hoods (and the head, if you wish)

2. Self learning for cassette

3. Easy to check gears in use

4. BIG cadence display

5. Simultaneous cadence and speed (which is probably not unique)

There are many others. Once I get into the mountains, I suspect I will use the stopwatch/training modes more.

Cheers...Gary

P.S. I use it with a 9s setup (3x9).

Thanks :)

If you do get an ErgoBrain 10, and you have a 9s gruppo, be sure that your shop knows to get the 9s adapter kit for it. Ours were the first that my builder had sold, and believed his Campa distributor, who said it was OK as is. Finally got it straightened out. And in the end got the bar tape color I wanted as a result :D

Lol, I have 10 speed.. do you mind me asking how much you paid for the computer (not install) and if the mechanic complained that it was a pain. I work at a LBS, and if they are anything like flight deck its goign to be a pain in my arse

p.s It does have a built in light right?

gmason 12-01-02 04:28 AM

It does have a backlight.

Well my builder is third generation in his family at his shop, and has been doing this for about thirty five years. He admittedly doesn't sell many ErgoBrains, but does build up many of his bikes (he personally builds every frame that leaves the shop). His only complaint was about trying to program it. Of course, that was made impossible to get right at one point because of the wrong sensing bits. Overall it was not an issue.

BTW - it is a first generation 10, not the new one that handles the triple 10. That may make some difference as well for you.

Cheers...Gary

The campy ergo computer rocks!!!!!

Guest 12-01-02 05:57 PM

I've been using the ergo computer for 2months now... and it's great !!! :) All the info I need and then some. Took me two days to figure out how to use it and then wammo...

The best part aside from the data is the integration with pedals and being able to push the little buttons on the inside of the brake covers to change data view.

Only negative I can think of would be the long wires. I'd pref wireless... :)
