So say I had a 9 speed cassette and chain. Would it be wrong to run a 10 speed Crank/rings? Any ill effects?

That's what I figured. Are the 10 speed chainrings narrower than the 9 speed? or do the have the same profile?

I'm running a 9sp campy cassette and RD with a SRAM 9sp chain along with a 10sp crank and chainrings. No problems at all.
