Chain length/tension
I also posted this in the road forums but after thinking about it this is probably a better place to ask.
What is the best way to determine the correct chain length/tension on a new chain? 8sp Shimano 600 (btw).
Maybe this is an ignorant question but I want to do it right the first time. (which it a rarity for me as of late)

Nick, Thanks for posting this question. I need to know this also. My bicycle wrenching experience is very limited and I am considering building up a Surly LHT - this is one of the many things I need to learn!

Well then, thanks for answering your own question!
This thread looks bad - it appears we are both talking to ourselves!
