Sunday, I did not ride, I rebuilt her...
What a day...
I decided to donate an entire day of my life to the maintenance of my love affliction. I rebuilt both of my Nuke Proof carbon hubs (for the first time, so it took a LONG time), filed the burs off all my chainrings and replaced the middle ring (no more chainsuck), and stripped the cassette and chain of all traces of dirt grime and grease. (Took about 6 hours).
Tommorrow, I'm gonna rebuild the fork, remount and lube the chain, and HOPEFULLY take her out for a much deserved ride...
I really want to service the freewheel, but no one can tell me how to get in there on a Nuke Proof Hub! There are 3 notches around the base of the freewheel, and threads on the inside of the outer part of it. An "O" ring separates the freewheel freom the cartridge bearing in the hub. Also, does anyone use grease on the outside of the freewheel to silence any creaking from the cassette? Mine tends to rock just a bit on the freewheel...

I have a cassette. It slides onto a freehub. I was tired and drunk when I made my post...
I REALLY need to get in there though! the freehub rocks back and forth and creaks, like there is NO grease or oil in it... So even though I've overhauled the hubs, cassette, cranks, bottom bracket (this morning), and fine tuned both deraillers - there is a creaking vibration coming from the freehub. AAHhh! It's driving me crazy!
Anyone familiar with Nuke Proof Hubs and their Freehub?
