cantiliver/caliper brake adapter

I've recently been buying bike parts in order to build my own bike. In the process, I neglected to check brake compatibility. So, I have a frame (Surly Long Haul Trucker) with cantilever bosses and brakes (Ultegra) that do not fit (they're road calipers). Does anyone know of an adapter one can buy so that I can make this work?

Std Ultegra brakes are short drop.
The LHT has quite a long drop to allow for wider tyres.
You may be able to fit a long-drop caliper to the brake bolt hole. Measure the drop required (C-C, brake bolt to brake-shoe bolt). Shimano make Ultegra quality long drop calipers with 57mm drop.

Use cantilever brakes! Return the Ultegra calipers, they are not the right brakes for that frame.

You cannot adapt caliper brakes to cantilever studs so that possibility is out. I agree that you should get the proper cantilever brakes and return or sell the Ultegras.
