Cantilever cartridge brake pads?
Hi
I have Tektro Oryx cantilever brakes that need some new pads. The pads on there right now do not have replaceable inserts. Where can I get some cartridge brake pads that work with cantilevers? Can I just use v-brake pads? Cartridge versions of those are easy to find. Thanks for your help. |
I think you can use standard v-brake cartridge pads. See this Nashbar product, which I believe is the Oryx rebranded. Even if it's not, it's the same shape. It comes with cartridge pads, and the replacement pads are v-brake inserts:

That's interesting...it certainly looks like a rebadged version of my brakes...which suggests I can use V-brake pads with no problems. Thanks!

Ok, thanks for your help. It's interesting that there are so many brake pads marketed exclusively for v-brakes or for cantis if they are interchangeable.
