custom wheel track hub

so i am wanting to upgrade my wheel set on my fixie... i currently have an old 6sp Record hub with a Open Pro rim, but i can not put a lockring on the hub (hence why I want a new wheel set, please no speechs...)

Is there anyone out there who sells/builds track wheels?
I need a 126mm spacing. I do not want to spend Phil Wood kind of money... I am thinking more like IRO hub (the one that looks like the old Record-C) with 3x on something like a CXP30 or even Open Pro (deep-v just would not look right, so not interested). I am just wanting somewhere else to compare to my LBS since they want 35 in labor for each wheel. If I built it I would only save 5-10 dollars since I do not have a turing stand.
Thanks in advance

If you were going to comission an artist to paint a portrait of a loved one would you look for the cheapest artist you could find or might there be some other factors you would want to consider?

I'm getting ready to build a fixed gear wheelset for myself but I'd charge you about what your LBS charges and you'd still have to pay shipping. I build a good wheel though so I'm worth it.

dig around over on the fixed forum, there is a cxp-22/formula wheelset that you can get for like $150 shipped or something like that. Company is down in Miami. They're fine, my roommate bought them and the spokes were up to tension and all that jazz.

Anybody who can build road wheels can buld track/fixie wheels. Easier, actually, since there's less dish. $35 does seem a tad steep. It takes less than 30 min to lace up a wheel. I charge $20 per wheel, but (A) I haven't built a set in a few years (I'll be building my own road wheels soon though) and (B) shipping would make me the same as your LBS anyway. But as stated above, if the LBS does good work, saving $10-20 on labor isn't worth it if the quality doesn't match up.

Thanks for reminding me why we went $1000 over budget on a wedding photographer :)
