head set
What parts does headset consist off? do you have to buy a separate head lock for it?

race crown, bottom bearing, bottom cup to be pressed into bottom of headtube, cup for top of headtube, bearing, cap that covers assembly, and a top cap that attaches to star fangled nut if threadless... sorry i don't know the terminology but those are the pieces from headsets i've worked with (threaded, icbm threadless).

A headset will come with all the parts you need, basically the stuff that tFunk listed. Like Pokey, I am not sure what a headlock is. Your LBS can help you.

A headlock is a fantastic part that only costs about £10 from your LBS.
It is a long threaded rod that goes down your headtube and has a nut at the bottom (nicely shaped to fit into the underneath of your fork) and a top-cap, that goes on top of your stem. You hold the bottom nut, whilst tightening the top part with a size 5 allen key. This clamps it all together very tightly. These things are the most secure way of holding all your headset and stem etc together.

use the 'select a manufacturer' part, and choose 'Planet-X'
The headlock should be about £10

Now, to answer the original question in light of this new info. The Headlock sounds like an accessory. It would not be included with a headset UNLESS the same company offers a special headset, in which case they might include it. You just have to ask whoever you are purchasing from.

Well, I ride mtb (dirt, street, messing about) and I bought one because they are so much better than a star nut.
I think the headlock was intended for bmx, however they can be used on any 1 1/8 bike.
You should consider one yourself, the amount of difference it makes, and they last far longer too.
btw can a 9speed rear deralleur be fully used on a 8 speed cassette, and shifter?

There are loads of companys that do them. I thought that most bikers used them too!

They are all good, I have an Amoeba. Be sure not to overtighten it though as you will bend the nut on the underneath giving you a bad contact with the underside of the fork.
