Wide road shoes? Where?

I am trying to find a reasonably priced pair of road shoes in a wide size. Nashbar had a good sale going, but no sizes for me. Anyone know where a good place is to get shoes/pedals? Thanks!

Low cut road shoes, I'm' not sure. I use Specialized Taho for my 10EEEs.

It is the single biggest hassle for me in the bike industry. I have 7 1/2 EEE feet. It is impossible to find shoes that fit. I buy street shoes on line also since shoe stores can't fit me either. So I buy a size that is too large for me (42) and leave them really loose in the toe. In other words, I tighten only the arch strap.

I own the "wide" sizes from Shimano and Sidi. Neither is wide enough but I get by with only minor pain using the method I just described. The Shimano are significantly better than the Sidi for me. Not only are they a little wider and more comfortable but they are stiffer in the sole and have better ventilation. They are also less expensive so that's a bonus. You don't often get the better product for less money.

I guess the answer for me is get some Rockets. I may do that one day. I have no idea how to help you with the "reasonably priced" part of your request. Cycling shoes are just plain overpriced for what they are.

That's what I was thinking...

Sierra Trading Post has lots of good deals on shoes, not sure if you'll find your size though.

FWIW, I have some Northwaves that are narrow and Shimanos that are wide. (in the regular width) And my Sidis are just right

Though my feet aren't that wide, I feel the pain. I tried Specialized and they are a pretty good fit. They are cut much larger in the toe box than Sidi or Shimano. I don't know if you can find a size as wide as you need. Check out their website. Good luck

I have been told that Time and Carnac shoes run wide. I can vouch for the Time, but never had a pair of Carnacs.

I wear a 11.5EEEE, and Pearl Izumi Vagabonds work well for me. $90 or something list, probably $75 at performance. I have a narrow heel, and don't personally like the sidi mega's fit (or the ridiculous prices). I have the road version, but the MTB is the same thing with a treaded sole.

Mods, this should probably go to road.

^ I currently use the MTB version of the Vegabonds. They are in fact the same shoe. I actually use them for road, but wanted to be able to walk normally when I get off the bike. Just call me Fred.

Sidi Mega's. Affordable is in the eye of the beholder.

Didn't say they weren't affordable, though why they cost what they do has 5x more to do with what people will pay for them than what they cost to make. What I said was they're overpriced and don't fit wide front, narrow heel duck feet.

I wear a 10 1/2( 46)/EEE and have found Lake CX shoes to be both a fine fit and reasonable. I got them from either Performance or Nashbar and paid $75.00 on their shoe sale. They wear well so I bought 2 pair to be sure I always have them. I have used both SPD and Look Keo systems with the Lake shoes and both are great.

Didn't direct my reply at yours. Actually I didn't bother reading it. Just gave my vote as I own two pair and like them.

Try Nashbar-E-05 (model number inside shoe)

Try Nashbar-E-05 (model number inside shoe)

I have size 9 EEEs, and these inexpensive Nashbar beauties work fine. I do not like the gray-black two-tone look, but I bought them with clipless peddles for cheap.
