When you want contentful answers, it's usually best to post to the mech forum directly. I find the road forum is *usually* much more of a "hooray for this" and "I feel your pain" sort of online community.

Edit: in this case, people who posted to your thread in the road forum (half of whom were people who post in the mech forum anyway) gave you mostly good responses.

There is no way for me to tell without seeing the bike. The question is: "What made the accident happen?" Without more information I'd just be guessing,
