What's wrong with your triple? You may or may not need a new front derailleur. I don't know the shimano stuff by heart, but there should be a document somewhere on shimano's site that tells you what BB goes with that crankset.

You'll need a 68mm x 109.5 mm Octalink BB (to my knowledge only Shimano makes 'em).

You probably won't need a new FD but you will need to adjust yours to "lock out" the missing low ring.

You also might want a new RD (or you will need to get ready to explain to all your riding buddies why you have a long cage rear derailleur on a double-crank bike).

Don't be so cranky; it's been a holiday weekend.
