squeaky pedal? or crank?

My crank was giving me problems so i made a few adjustments. All minor. Now it seems as though my pedals are squeaking. Is it possible that newer pedals in older cranks could cause this? What other problems cause squeakiness in this area?

Any help would be appreciated.

Are you sure it's the pedals squeaking and not your cleats? What kind of cleats are you running? The red LOOK-compatible cleats are prone to squeaking when they get exposed to road dust after so many miles.
