Wider foot position.

I wonder if anyone knows some trick to get a slightly wider foot position. I recently put together a cheap locktite fixie using a new narrow bottom bracket (112mm) with an older set of 165mm road cranks. I would sooner live with the slightly too narrow foot position than put up for a new BB (which in any case would change the chainline) or new cranks. I also don't want the Paul White or the Kneesaver adapters which are both very expensive. Maybe a different style of pedal might work. I'm currently using the classic Nuovo Record/ MKS Sylvan style road pedal which I'd gladly replace. Thanks.

Try bending the cranks out a bit with a pry bar. Yeah, the pedals will track funny, but hey; it'll be cheap.

Sheldon Brown has spacers that do what you want. Check his web site.

Thanks for the info. Bending? Prybar? really? Would'nt that wreck the BB?

I got knee savers for my friend. Yeah they are way overpriced for how basic they are. But they work.
