dura ace crankset self extracting bolt, need to remove cap when remove crank??

I forgot about this. I have a dura ace crankset that uses self extraction bolt. There is a cover/collar that is screwed on/off using a pin spanner. I want to remove the crankset, do I need to remove the collar first?
thanks.

Leave it on, that's what makes it self-extracting. Make sure it hasn't unscrewed some.
