fenders for a hybrid

Hi all,

I've recently purchased a bike for my wife, and she is thoroughly enjoying it. While riding after a recent rainstorm, though, she ended up with a mudstripe up her back. Needless to say, she'd like fenders installed.

Her bike is a Giant Cypress, with front suspension. I've been looking at some 45mm SKS/ESGE fenders, but I'm not sure the front fenders will work on a bike with a front suspension.

Has anyone installed these fenders on a similar bike, and if so, how are they working? If there are any other suggestions for fenders, I would certain appreciate it!

those fenders work fine on cypresses, although it is wise to either fashion or invest in mudflaps, as they are not long enough to provide good coverage in wet weather. slightly more expensive, and infinately more atrocious to set up are honjo fenders, which are longer, lighter, and nicer, but take a good two hours to install

I recently installed Planet Bike fenders on my Trek 7500 Hibrid with a front suspension fork. They fit great and had plenty of room for my 700x35 tires. I think the fenders were listed as a 45mm. They also have small mud flaps. Mine are black plastic but they also come in some colors if you are interested.
I got mine at a LBS but they are available at multiple web sites also.
