Shimano Nexus 3-speed

In gear one works normly, BUT in gears 2 or 3 when pedaling the free wheel noise comes in, like your coasting even though your pedaling... my shimano INTER-4 doesnt do that, but does the new nexus 3-speed do it?

If not i gota fix it...

That's normal, don't worry about it. There are multiple sets of pawls in there, and in third , the hub shell is outrunning all but one of them causing the ratcheting sound you are hearing. I'm not really sure why the 3 speed is so much louder than the 7 or 8 speed,(I've never come in contact with a 4 speed, so I can't comment on that one)
Anyway, they all do it, so just enjoy the mechanical music as you ride.
Dan
