Why creaking noise while in highiest gears?

It's coming from the rear and I assume it's the cassette, but not %100. Anyways, if i'm in one of the highest few gears(top 2 or 3 only) and I attempt to sprint while at a higher speed then normal I hear a loud noise on each revoloution. I have a feeling it's just part of the deal, but thought i'd ask?

i was getting the same thing but mostly when i am out of the saddle or when i hit bumps.

i've found that it's my XTR derailleur fixing bolt. the bolt is ti and so is my frame. i greased the threads where it screws in the frame and i dripped some oil around where the bolt is housed in the derailleur.

i've never had a cassette creak.

Could also just be plain old frame flex.

true. it could be anything. even a front derailleur clamp. creaks are so sneaky and you'll get plenty if you ride in the rain. the best thing to do is break out the allens wrenches and start turning stuph.

Locating creaks while riding is frustrating. I have a loud creaking noise that is synchronized with pedal strokes. the noise occurs only under heavy load like hill climbing on or off the saddle. It sounds like it is coming from the pedals or the bottom brackets. All components are new (Shimano 105) and the the LBS who installed the components re-checked everything and can't find the source. Can it be the cassette? I haven't changed that in about 1 year, the chain is fairly new.

Please help.
