help needed please!!
ok im in a very rough spot at the moment i am 15 and ive been saving all year to buy a 24 seven deviant .so yesterday i had enough money so i went to the nearest leisure lakes store and got one it was fine although the disk was rubbing quite a bit but i put it down to the fact that there new disks and hadnt beddid in properly well today i went riding on it all day and the problem gradualy got worse untill i went around a mates house and got him to adjust em .this mate had done lots for me and my freinds and is a pretty good mechanic,so he set about adjusting the caliper and we found out that the lower bolt was loose so we tightend it and it wasnt going anyfurther or getting tight .so he tried to take the bolt out and within 2 turns he had it out but to our horror the thread had come out with it (by the way i am talking about the disk on the forks). so now im stuck with a bike my parents wont let me ride cause they believe it to be unsafe and i have no moeny to replace the fork for a while and a voided waranty is there anyway i can salvage the forks please i am really desperate it took me most of a year to come up with £850 pounds and i wont be able to ride uit untill i can replace the fork does anyone know of a way i can salvage them i have only had the bike 2 days and now i cant ride it any hep would be apreciated harvey !

so presumably the fork is a IS mount, ie the bolts are in line with the front axle. if this is the case, measure the existing bolts, and get one longer, by say 10 mm. its probally an m6 bolt. thread the new bolt all the way through the brake mount, and put a nut on the other end. sandwich it. should work, if that solution is applicable. if not, if its not the fork but the brake adaptor thats stripped, just get a new adaptor.
