Bleeding breaks
 

Hello, I am new to mountain biking and I am building my bike from scratch. I have a all XT parts and I was wondering if I could get some instructions on the best way to bleed the new XT hydros. Any instruction and/or advice would be greatly appreciated THANKS

The best way to learn would be to bring the bike once finished to your LBS and have them do it. Ask if you can watch. that way you get them bled correctly and will know how to do it the next time you need to change the fluid. Bleeding brakes is relativly simple but since I am not familiar with the XT's and what type of bleed screws they use I can not tell you much more then I have.

Ok, maybe that is the best option. I called around and they want to charge $60 for the bleeding of the breaks. That sounds a bit high to me. They say it's because I did not buy them there but I spent about a grand on other parts there. does that sound right to you guys?? If so, I'll just do it and get it finished so I can ride.

Sounds a little high to me but I am not familiar with that part of the country and its prices. Here in Missouri we get about 40 for a tune up and around 30 for a brake bleed/adjustment.
