ARG the skweekiness of my brakes
...is driving me crazy!!!! Do I need new brake pads or what? What kind of brake pads should I get? Should I get them installed or is it easier to do it myself?
Sorry for all the question marks its just that I have a lot of questions .
Thanks in advance,

Toe them in first. Unless your brake pads were always grindy/squeaky. Then look for new pads. And clean your rims with rubbing alcohol and dig the stuff out of your pads you have now. And toe them in.

Get Kool Stop pads. Black for general conditions, Salmon color for especially wet conditions (but they do wear rims faster).

I'll second the Kool-Stop recomendo. Best brake pads in the world-- seriously. I have a set on my road bike-- lovely cartridge type with alloy holders and dual-compound pads. I also run Kool-Stops on my cyclocross bike and ancient mountain bike. The dual-compound work best for eliminating brake squeal. Harder black in front with softer salmon in rear.
As for rim wear? Kool-Stop touts their "Rim Friendly" formula. *shrug*
Anyway, i've used various Kool-Stops since the late 1980's. Excellent excellent brake pads.
