Wheelbuilding course in Toronto?
Anyone know of courses in or near Toronto? I'm looking to finally get into this.
TIA |

Thanks... I've already read all the usual online sources and was pretty confident to get started... then I saw the thread a couple of days ago on the road bike forum where the guys home-built wheels self destructed at 18mph and I started to think it might be good to have someone show me some tips the first time 'round!

Wheelbuilding isn't all that difficult; if you have an eye for detail, and are patient, and have just a modicum of dexterity, you should have no problems. There are many fine treatises on the subject (Roger Musson, Gerd Schraner, Jobst Brandt, Sheldon Brown et al.) If you're that worried, you could always have your LBS check your handiwork before you take your life in your hands. That being said, there's nothing like hurtling down a hill at 40mph for the first time on a home-built wheel-set to get the adrenaline flowing… ;) - Wil |
