Campy 8 spped Freehub Transplant

I have a set of wheels with a record 8 speed hub using the titanium style spline pattern. I bought the wheels thinking I could just drop in my existing 8 speed cassette, but that's not the case. I understand Wheels Manufacturing makes a spacer kit that, in conjunction with some filing, will allow a 9 speed loose cassete to be used as an 8 speed. Depite that, I'm thinking about swapping in a Campy traditional 8 speed freehub body. Has anyone swapped Campy 8 speed freehubs? How difficult is it -- am I crazy to think about doing that? Are there compatibility issues or will any campy 8 speed body swap in? Thaks for any advice anyone can provide! Dave
