campy question
I am building a bike over the winter and will be using a campy group. I am leaning towards the record carbon group, but am also comparing chorus and maybe centaur or even a mixture of parts.
My question
I have heard that campy took away the multiple shifts on some of their lower groups which ones were affected?

According to what I coudl find on campyonly.com, Record is the only one that still has the ability to dump multiple cogs in a single lever pull. However, they mentioned that the action of these new levers are very light and short, so it should be very easy to just fire off a quick series of taps compared to a shimano setup.
Either way, I'm keeping my old alloy Chrous brifters....Carbon to me is still a gimmick, and I like dumping multiple gears. It's just better for someone that needs to dump gears when sitting at a stop light. Just use the front brakes to lift the back wheel off the ground, and turn those cranks while pushing the lever in, it's easy!

Supposedly Record and Chorus can still shift multiple gears. The other groups are supposed to do two at a time. That feature is highly overrated. I almost never use it on my Daytona 10 speed. Look at it this way: Lance Armstron won 7 Tours on Shimano, 1 shift at a time. If it's good enough for him it's good enough for the rest of us. Good luck. Veloce is looking like the best deal in an all alloy group these days.

I have chorus on my bike and I'm always using multiple shifts especially when switching from small to large chainring. One click to the big ring and 3 clicks on the rear and I'm up a notch on my gearing without slowing down. If I hit a hill that's bigger than I thought its also easy to downshift quickly. Just MHO.

You will be able to downshift multiple cogs with one sweep of the lever with the new design shifters which is valuable in hilly conditions. You will not be able to upshift multiple cogs and will have to tap the "mouse ear" X times for X upshifts. Shimano has always had this limitation and it's really no limitation at all.

I must be a nerd. I think the multiple upshifting is wonderful, and I use it all the fricken time. Just as multiple downshifts are great in hilly conditions, the multiple upshift at the top to get back going down hill is just as great. Overrated? Not for me. --Being able to dump both thumbs to simultaneously go to the small ring and drop a couple cogs to keep near the same ratio is perfect for pre-planning a hill. Dowhatchalike, but I'm staying with Campy, and when I build my next bike I'll go NOS if I have to....

Lets not make this a Campy vs. Shimano thread. 
My choice has been made (be it right or wrong).

Now I know this is a forum and I should expect different answers but I was hoping to get a bunch the same so I could go with the majority. That being said any more replies would be helpful or a link to the answer would be great.

According to the Camy website ( https://www.campagnolo.com/groupsets.php?gid=3&cid=3 )the Centaur group and below use the 'Escape' mechanism in the ergopowers for '07 and so limit the number of gear 'jumps'...
