Oh my aching hubs...

ok, short back story, I found a set of wheels in the trash one night with a set of pelliser hubs on them. i'm currently cleaning the hubs so that I can have them laced to a new set of rims. Here's the problem, just now while degreasing them I noticed that if I held one flange in one hand and the other flange in the other hand, I can twist them in opposite directions by maybe a millimeter. The flanges are crimped to the axle housing, so it seems that some play has developed.

are these hubs completely trashed or still useable?

I can't think of a reason why this would be a good thing. But look on the bright side: you are out exactly what you paid for them Put them back whench they came.

I agree. I would give them a decent funeral and be grateful you didn't throw good money after bad by paying to have them built up. They were in the trash for a reason.

The 3-piece structure says "not very high quality" anyway... Maybe I'd use the front in a real junk beater bike, if the flange is not loose radially. I'd def. build it myself, though, esp. considering the ludicrous fees they charge over there. But yeah, chuck it.
