Threading for shimano crank arm
What direction is the threading for the non-drive side of a shimano ultegra crank arm on an octalink bb? Can't seem to get the crank arm off. Thanks!!

GCRyder: Removal tool? You're thinking about a crank puller, which the Octalink doesn't need. It uses a self-extracting bolt turned by a 8mm hex wrench.
hamr22: Don't remove the cap with the two pin holes; it keeps the crank arm bolt captive. Just turn the crank arm bolt in the normal - counterclockwise - direction and the crank arm will back off with the bolt.

Thanks...got it unstuck and removed. My friend told me that the non drive side was left hand threaded and that didn't seem right. Also, glad you told me to keep the cap on, which my moron friend also told me to remove first.

Most bottom brackets are reverse threaded, but not crank arms.
