Ahead Stem for Threaded Fork?
I don't know if anything like this is out there, but if it is, please advise.
I have a frame with a 1" threaded fork and I have a set of Carbon bars I'd like to use (Syntace) but in order to use the bars, I need a stem. The quill ones don't open up to the large dia of the Syntace bars, and the threadless stems (obviously) won't work in my threaded fork .
But (and it's a big BUT), if someone made an adapter that would attach to the threaded fork in the same way a quill does (cone or wedge at the bottom with pull-up bolt), but would have the 1-1/8" (or even 1") tubular shaft at the top, I could attach the Syntace stem to that, and my problem would be solved.
Have I ever seen anything like this? No. But I have thought it out, and it seems like it would work. That being the case (and unless I'm badly mistaken) someone must have thought of this mythical part before me.
And maybe, just maybe, someone is selling them and they are available from a website (or shop) that one of you fine mechanics will advise me.
Or . . . I could be badly mistaken. It happens. I have Googled around and found nothing, but maybe I've used the wrong key words. That happens too.
If not, I guess I'm in the market for a carbon fork!

Thanks Steev,
I followed the link you supplied and placed an order via Nashbar Internet sales. Should be to me in 10 days, but I'm hoping sooner.
Thanks for your help! I was hoping something like that would be out there!
