Ksyrium SL front hub noise

The past couple of rides, the front hub of my Ksyriums (SL '04 version) have been making a extremely loud howling sound whenever i descend over 40+ KPH. The mechanic in my LBS is puzzled and since it only shows up at speed we cant recreate it at the shop.

Anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.

Have you taken out the axle and greased the axle where it touches the bearings? My Ksyriums made a loud crunching sound when I really hammered in the drops so I took it apart, greased everything and it went away. Might do the trick for you. Or you may have shot bearings.

Mechanics I've talked to say the Mavic bearings are crap. Pop them out and replace them with some high-quality ($8?) units.
