Insanely loud squeak on my pedal
Recently, a very loud squeak has developed on my left pedal. At first, I thought it was the crankshaft, but further inspection found it to be the pedal. My right pedal is absolutely fine, which is kind of weird.
Whenever pressure is put on the pedal and the pedal is turned, it makes a very loud squeak. Since the pedal moves with the bike, it constantly makes a very loud squeak as I push down on the pedal to push the bike forward.
I removed the pedal and put it back in. It fixed it for about a minute, and then it went back to squeaking again. What could be the cause of the squeaking? Should I lubricate it? How can I fix it?

first, make sure its not your cleat. Clean off the cleat, and you can put alittle wd40 on the cleat to see if that is the culprit. Sometimes, where the cleat touches the pedal can cause a "squeek". Once you are sure it is the pedal (probably is) then you might need to repack the bearings.....you didn't mention what kind of pedals...specifically what kind and model?
