Help!! Can I mount V-brakes on this fork?
I have a Marzocchi Marathon SL '04 to which I was hoping to mount a set of Single Digit Ultimate V-brakes. I may, however, have been stupid in my purchase. I checked my fork and found what I thought were the mounts for V-brakes so I merrily went on my way and dropped $350 on the brakes. The problem is that the V-brake mounts seem to be nothing more than a place to screw in a hose guide for hydro lines. I can screw in the brake bosses but (please pardon my lack of technical language here) the thingy with the little holes in it is not there for popping on the first part of the brake with the springy thingy.
So the question is, can I not attach v-brakes to this fork? |
Here's a link that may help: http://www.till.ru/birota/manuals/ma...arathon-sl.pdf
(go to page 8 of the pdf file) Apparently, there are adapters available from Marzocchi so the fork can accept v-brakes, you may have to order them through your LBS- |
I don't know if your particular fork is disc only or not but my new marzocchi bomber mx pro came with two loose canti studs and those little washer-like thingies with those pin holes you mentioned, all in a separate parts bag. Do your fork legs have threaded bosses on both legs?

My guess is that you are missing the spring tabs, if you can contact the seller and inform them of that, and that you need them.
Failing that, contact Marzocchi, and they may send you some, and at the worst, you may be forced to fork out for some. Thats a good price for that fork, I paid $480 canadian, and thought I got a good deal! |
