Copper Coloured Waterbottle Cages

O.K. This is really "nerdy", but I thought it would be nice to find some copper water bottle cages to match my Brooks B17 Special with the copper rails. The problem is I can't find any. Anyone every seen such an animal? Thanks

I have not seen copper colored. Cambria has a wide selection of cages. This cage in yellow might be a close match.

If there were to be a copper cage I assume you know they would have to use a copper alloy as copper is too soft and would not retain its shape.

I haven't seen copper, but Minoura makes a bright gold-finish cage that would, if not match, at least "echo" the rails on your b-17. I'm looking at the combo now & it's really attractive. The cage oughtta be about $15. Good luck!

Cussi Elite cages are stainless steel, but they have a pair of copper medalions. They're bare copper, so you have to polish them once in a while to keep them bright to match the brooks frame.

Elite made a bronze Patao with a retro aluminum bottle with a cork stopper.

Can't help you with a bottle cage, but Eddie Bauer makes (made last year) a copper colored aluminum water bottle that fits bicycle bottle cages. Not a very practical design since the aluminum bottle can't be squeezed to void the vacuum that occurrs when you drink the water resulting in the water flow stopping when you drink.

But they look really cool!

I don't think that's nerdy at all, in fact I think it would look cool; problem is I haven't seen a copper colored cage, look into the Elite that one poster mentioned.

Try using a copper plating kit to make your own:

I was going to say maybe check with a local powdercoater and see if they have a color you like. Take them some plain silver cages and have them coat 'em for ya!

Hmmm...that's got me thinkin'...hmm

Another idea is to spray an "ordinary one" with a metallic paint ala Rust-oleum.
