A Thank You and Get Well Soon to Sheldon Brown
As some of you may know, Sheldon Brown is having some health issues. The cause of his problems continues to vex his physicians, and they are still searching for a solution. Amazingly, Sheldon has a pretty darn good atitude about the whole thing. Many of us have called upon his vast knowledge of bicycles and the mechanical maintenance thereof on more than a few occasions over the years. So here's a Thank You and a Get Well Soon to Sheldon Brown. If you want to follow Sheldon's progress you can check his health journal at http://sheldonbrown.org/journal/health.html.
p.s. He has great eclectical musical tastes too.! |
I have never met him, so I cannot claim to know him. But his personality, wit, kindness, and mechanical insight come sneaking through in his websites and posts.
Best of health and happiness to Sheldon. jim |
I hope he's got some wheelgoods to fiddle with to keep his mind on more enjoyable activities.

Sheldon is not only an exceptional source of cycling information he is always generous and kind in sharing his knowledge.

Sheldon Brown has both educated and entertained me with his writings on cycling and other subjects. Get Well Soon, Captain Bike!

I would never have gotten into bike mechanics without Sheldon Brown and his web site! I would never have this fun and useful hobby. I would never have tried a fixed gear bike either! Every time I've communicated with Sheldon he has been helpful and funny and generous with his advice.
Thanks for everything, Sheldon, and get well soon (so you can get back on all those bikes of yours :)) |
Sheldon, good luck. You're a brave man to be posting those updates for all to see, here's hoping that someone who's benefitted from your massive internet database can contribute a bit of medical knowledge to get you on the mend. All the Best for 2007! :)

Get well, Sheldon - we need your advices and your humour. And, I think many will agree (expecially those that had personal contact with you): the world is a better place thanks to you.

Much of what I know today was learned from Sheldon through his sight. He even took the time to answer an email from me personally regarding a wheel building question. Get well Sheldon!!!

Cheers Sheldon. I wouldn't know half of what I do without you. You're a gem.

Ditto what everyone else has said. I don't know Sheldon but I feel like I do. I am very grateful for his knowledge and his willingness to share it. Get well Sheldon and I hope you get back to riding the way you'd like as soon as possible.

Sheldon is a man who (to my sensibilities) absolutely radiates good humour and passion for life. I can't count the number of times I've referred to his websites for valuable information or just fun reading.
My best thoughts and positive energy are being sent your way Mr. Brown. |
I can only echo what has been said in this thread, thank you for all your help Sheldon.
Jason 'Gratefull" Meadows. |
Insane amounts of props to Sheldon Brown. Without him I couldn't have built up my first fixed frame. Get well soon.
|
Get well soon Sheldon, and keep your chin up.
I got into bike mechanics after being introduced to your website, and I now derive almost as much pleasure from my "bike maintenance and tinkering" as I do riding. The discovery of your website was a "revelation", and it totally changed the way I look at bicycles and Cycling forever. Once again, I wish you a speedy recovery. Regards, |
Really hope you find and answer ... and there's a cure. Best wishes!

Sheldon, you have a fabulous outlook on life and your website really widened my perspective on bikes, and on life. I suppose mostly bikes, but... is there much of a difference? You are my favorite pseudo celebrity bike nut, keep riding that greenspeed and get well soon!
