Pista bottom bracket

I have a 2004 bianchi pista, and lately, Ive notived a grinding/creaking noise coming from the bottom bracket. At forst, it only happened when I was crakning up a big hill etc., but has become more frequent. I put it on my bike trainer today, and heard the noise a lot...

Im a bit oif a noob at bike reapir, but is there anything I can do? Its a cartridge bottom bracket, so if there are any problems wth that I know it needs to be replaced, but could there be any other issues?

Pull the cranks off and turn the spindle by hand, if it feels crunchy then replace it. If it feels smooth then take it out, clean up the threads and reinstall it with some grease or teflon tape and tighten it up good and tight.

You might check your crank and chainring bolts first, those will make some noise if they're loose. Oh, don't forget the pedals too.

Thanks for the advice! The crank bolts are nice and tight. I brought the bike to a local bike shop (it needed some other work) and mentioned the problem, and that's the first thing they did. Ill take the cranks off, have a look inside...
