Help needed *URGENT*

I'm about to bid on a Sturmey Archer 8sp internal hub with a drumbrake laced to an Alex DC19 rim, it's just the rim/hub/tire. No levers.

Would I run into problems running this on a bike with a 1 peice crank set up? It's a nothing special bike (Infact, it's my tallbike) And what kinda levers and shifters do I need for it, is it index or friction?

Thank you for your help.

And the bike.

Also, what do you say this wheel is worth?

No problem with a one-piece-crank, and a suitably small chainring (these hubs need a very small chainring to give decent low gears with full-sized wheels.

Like all Sturmey-Archer hubs, the shifter is indexed. The correct shifter is a special twist grip.

You might run into problems with cable routing on your tallbike. These hubs have a Shimano-like shift linkage. Unlike Shimano, they don't offer different anti-rotation washers for different fork end slot angles. The hub comes with two different support arms for the cable, for two different fork end angles, but it is not clear that either of these would work for your application...the chain is liable to rub on the shift cable.

Well, I got it for $51 Canadian, so I think I got my money's worth. Now I just need to find a shifter, does it have to be Sturmey or can it be just a regular indexed 8 speed? Because I checked Ebay and I couldnt find any 8 speed shifters.

Also, there is another one with the same set up coming up in another three days, should I try to get that one to? Are these really expensive wheels?
