What is the FD clamp size on a allez epic

No amount of searching has shown me what the clamp diameter might be for my early 90's carbon fiber Allez Epic.

Probably 27.2mm, but here's a better option ...... measure it!

capwater's thinking seatpost diameter, FD clamp is at least 31.8 mm. However, many carbon frames don't use a clamp-on FD. Make sure you don't have a braze-on FD which mounts to a tab attached (brazed in the case of steel) to the seat tube.

How true, thanks for the correction, need more coffee. Not sure about those old school lugged carbon frames. Here's a pic that clearly shows it with a clamp.

I still say if you have the frame just measure the diameter!

Current derailleur clamps come in three diameters, 1-1/8" (28.6 mm), 1-1/4" (31.8 mm), and 1-3/8" (34.9 mm) so it should be fairly easy to measure your seat tube and determine which of the three you need. The differenced are pretty apparent.

It's an old-style straight-tube glued onto alu, and does have a clamp.

I used a length of clear tape to measure mine. Put a mark on one end of tape, wrap tape around tube overlapping first mark, then put second mark over first. Carefully unwrap tape and place over straight ruler. Divide by pi.
