Front Freewheel Questions

I need the help of someone familiar with the Positron/Front Freewheel System. As I posted in a previous thread my pedals are freespinning(pedals spin, but the drivetrain does not engage). I was wondering if replacing the front sprocket(if that is what it is called) will fix this problem? I have a vehicle, but this is my preferred means of transportation. Thnaks for your help in advance.

From your other post, it sounds like the rear freewheel is shot. But you can't buy a replacement for what you have, although I don't a problem with just using a regular freewheel...you'd lose the whole chain-moving-while-coasting thing, but it doesn't seem like you care about that. Just get a new freewheel, which is not expensive, and you should be fine. Replacing the chainring(sprocket) would do nothing.

ok PPS or Positve Positron System has nothing to do with the FFS

The freewheel is placed in the front sprocket. There is NO FREEWHEEL in the back. The cogs are designed if your pant leg gets caught. The cog in back will spin free and not engage.

Can you freewheel the crank backwards? Should run free and nothing moves...

The problem that I have is that there is no rear freewheel. The front freewheel continuously moves, as does the chain. The rear is stationary. What I was wondering, is that if the Front system here http://cgi.ebay.com/Shimano-Positron...QQcmdZViewItem will help solve my problem

The freewheel is in the bottom bracket, not the chainring, I am almost sure. At any rate, there wouldn't be a replacement available either way, and it just sounds like the non-freewheel:rolleyes: is disengaged.
