The brifters will come with cable housing stops/adjusters that bolt on over the down tube bosses. At least Shimano will, Campy sells them as optional. You will need to use them when you install the brifters.

Shimano doesn't always come with them - you may have to buy they separately.

Wrong...

If you buy Shimano STi new in-the-box, they come with complete cables, housing and stops...

Incorrect.

I bought Tiagra STI levers new in-the-box. They came with complete cables and housing.

(some frames have stops built in - not everyone would want them)

Then someone snaked them out of your box. I've installed several hundred (literally) and never seen a box without them...

Eh?

Maybe a Europe thing??

Or OEM kit thing??

I sort of fail to see why they would include them... don't you end up with lots left over for frames that have stops built in?
