Avid V-brake Spring Kit installation.

Has anyone had to remove the inner portion of the Avid SD brake arms? I've just purchased the spring kit, and can't push, or tap the pressure fitted inner lining out. It's the portion that goes on the brake boss. I've tried lightly tapping it out, but it'll probably require something like a vice, or bearing press.

Thanks in advance.
