Cassette spacer for mavic vs. FSA wheels.

I have a Mavic Ksyrium ES wheelset that came with my bike. I purchased a FSA RD-80 wheelset for rain/training. When I switched the 10sp. shimano 11-23 cassette from the Mavics to the FSAs I could not get the lockring to fully tighten. (the lockring will initially catch threads then sort of pop out of place like the threads are stripping) Question is.. does Mavic use a larger spacer than standard? Like a 2mm vs. a 1mm ? I used the spacer that came with the Mavics on the FSA body. Thanks in advance.

Mavic hubs have their own thicker spacer in addition to the thin 10 speed spacer. So when going to a non-Mavic hub just use the slim 10 speed spacer. Sounds like you have just the mavic one on there.

And if you have a nine speed cassette you don't need any spacer.
