Coating for CF?
 

I have some raw carbon fibre bits and such that I was thinking of building into a rack. The only question is, what should I coat it with? I want something protective and clear...

I don't have the answer, but perhaps a good auto body shop would know. Some car parts are now made of carbon, and I'm sure it has to be sealed prior to painting, so they should have some info.

I know that you want to protect the CF from UV light and that bikes where you can see the CF weave have some sort of clear-coat to block the UV. What I don't know is a technical name for this stuff, or where to get it :(

Maybe marine gel-coat would work. Sticks to fiberglass
