MTB lever... ROAD brake caliper compatibility?
I'm rescuing an 80's SR Semi Pro road bike with all it's Shimano 600 components intact. I'm considering converting to flat bars. So my quesion is: will MTB levers pull sufficient cable to safely operate ROAD calipers?
I usually read about folks wanting to put drop bars and levers on their comfort or mountain bikes... to which the answer is usually that road levers won't work V-brakes. But what about the other way around?
Thanks. DanO

MTB levers made for cantilever brakes will work well with road caliper brakes. MTB levers intended for V-brakes or mechanical disc brakes will not.
