Fulcrum 3 cassette/freehub
Hi,
I am trying to fit a Shimano 10 speed cassette to a Fulcrum 3 wheel designed for 10 speed Shimano.
The cassette comes with a spacer that both the cassette instructions and the Fulcrum instructions say need to bee put on first before the cassette.
Howeer the metal spacer is not wide enough to fit over the freehub body, it only goes down a short way to a step and then the cassette will not fit over the spacer down to the bottom freehub.
Does this mean the wheel I got is not designed for Shimano 10 speed ?
Thanks..

If you put the cassette onto the freehub body without the spacer, will the lockring not tighten down as far as it should?
If not, then you'll need the spacer (which is what I assume is the case based on your post).
What I'm wondering is, how can the metal spacer go partway on but then stop after a bit? Because the freehub body isn't tapered, if the spacer can start going on it should be able to continue going on. Does it hit some kind of burr in the metal on the freehub body that stops it?
